              Why O2 Boot Camp?

O2 Modern Fitness Boot Camp classes utilize highly effective physical training techniques practiced by the U.S. military. Because of the nature of the exercises involved in Boot Camp, doing a boot camp class can improve one’s overall quality of life.  It will help one to develop core strength, agility and exercise capacity.  This directly improves the body’s tolerance to stress. It will also improve the enjoyment of leisure time.  Classes may include body resistance exercises, tubing exercises, obstacle course negotiation, circuit training and basic cardio-vascular exercises. Every class is designed to build core strength, flexibility, stamina and endurance.  During a Boot Camp class you could burn up to 600-800 calories in 60-minutes. Highly trained instructors will lead participants through a series of heart-pounding, military-style calisthenics and basic fitness exercises.

Each class combines cardiovascular and strength training exercises in a regimented and structured class. All classes are 60 minutes. No previous exercise experience is necessary.  The instructors will guide the participants through a safe, progressive and rewarding exercise program.

Participants of an O2 Modern Fitness Boot Camp class can expect a highly energizing and motivating exercise setting. Modification to exercises will be made to accommodate all levels and experience of participants. Boot camp is designed so that all participants will reach their exercise goals.

Boot Camp classes at O2 will embody the same values that all current classes at O2.  These values include: 1. convenient exercise classes that fit into a work schedules, 2. fitness enthusiasts of all levels can reach and maintain their fitness goals, and 3. participants will have a sense of ownership in the classes.  The instructors really get to know the participants.

Be all that you can be!

              Be Prepared!

Participants should bring with them to class a towel, water bottle and comfortable, yet breathable exercise clothing. Running shoes are encouraged but not required as there will be some short distance running involved in the classes. Also bring the willingness to change your fitness condition for the good!

              The O2 Difference.

O2 Boot Camp is the ONLY Boot Camp that offers a rain or shine option. In bad weather the Boot Camp class will be held in our beautiful indoor skylit studio.

O2 Boot Camp is the only Boot Camp that has shower facilities.  No excuses!!

              Michael Urquhart

              Picture
Mike has a background in military fitness programs.  His classes are straight forward core strengthening and endurance building.  He bases his classes on some very basic exercises that are easy for anyone to do. He occasionally allows an opportunity for the participants to lead some of the exercise sessions under his guidance. To keep participants motivated, Mike will occasionally call some military cadences.
Both Laurie and Mike vary their classes from time to time to keep the participant motivated, challenged and entertained! Some of these variations may include running a basic obstacle course, doing grass drills or performing a circuit training system.

Laurie has a background in endurance sports.  Her bootcamp classes are designed to develop the core strength needed for long distance cycling and running.  Using elastic bands, jump ropes, cones, rings, ropes and body weight; bootcamp  will increase your stamina, agility and functional strength.  Combining cardiovascular exercise with strength training, bootcamp can function as a stand alone exercise program; however, the programs are designed to compliment your other cardiovascular activities by developing the muscular/core strength and flexibility needed for a lifetime of injury free participation in endurance sports.
